The Wand

There is no longer any need to fear needles and syringes! At Cochrane Dental Center, we have a local anesthetic device called The Wand. The Wand delivers precise pressure and a steady flow rate. The source of pain for most injections is not the needle itself but the flow of the anesthetic to the tissue. The computer inside The Wand automatically ensures a steady flow rate so you virtually do not feel the needle at all.

For those of you who do not care for injections at all, we've taken the fear, anxiety and pain out of dental anesthetic injections. It does not look or feel like a syringe. The Wand also allows injections that do not numb the lips, face and muscles of expression. Whether injections make you nervous or not, The Wand benefits you by providing a more effective anesthetic delivery and the onset of anesthesia is faster. You will be more comfortable throughout the procedure, and we may be able to use new techniques so you won't experience the lingering numbness of your tongue, lips and face.
