About Us

	Dr. Dave Sawka Dr. Dave Sawka is a native Calgarian who graduated in 1988 from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science degree. He obtained his Faculty of Dentistry degree from the University of British Columbia in 1994. Returning to Calgary after graduation, associating at a busy general dentistry practice for 2 years. December 1996 found Dave acquiring his own Dental Practice at our current location. The office is a general family practice, which welcomes New Patients. Dr. Sawka pursues advanced continuing education, keeping current on the latest dental procedures and techniques. He maintains his active membership with his local association; Calgary District Dental Society as well the Alberta Dental Association & the Canadian Dental Association. He resides locally with his wife Kerri and their 4 children in Cochrane. Outside of the practice of dentistry, Dave enjoys boating, water sports, hockey and maintaining a regular exercise regimen. Activities with his friends and spending as much time as possible with his family and his 4 children: Taylor, Tanner, Parker & Hunter are of significant importance. Dr. Sawka heads a remarkable staff that he considers the office's greatest asset. He is proud to have an experienced, friendly staff that prides themselves on maintaining a high level of professionalism, in our welcoming atmosphere. In our office we are committed to offering our patients the best current treatment options that apply to their situation in a relaxed, neighborly environment.
	Dr. Chris Leong Born and raised in Calgary, Dr. Chris Leong began his post-secondary schooling at the University of Calgary, and then transferred to the University of Alberta where he completed his Bachelor of Medical Sciences (B.MSc.) in 2001, and his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in 2002. He then went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) with honours in 2006 also from the University of Alberta. Dr. Leong has been with the practice since 2006 where he has enjoyed getting to know and treat patients in Cochrane. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, including seeing children and focusing on preventative dentistry. Dr. Leong is dedicated to providing patient-centered oral health care and is most concerned about ensuring that his patients fully understand and feel comfortable with any treatment they will be receiving. When not practicing dentistry, Chris and his wife Stephanie can be found in the kitchen where they love to create and enjoy culinary delights. Dr. Leong and his wife are also active members at their church, where they serve in several ministries.
	Dr. Shaily Mehrotra Dr.Shaily Mehrotra joined the practice in July 2011. She is also a born and raised Calgarian, similar to her colleagues. She began her undergraduate education at The University of Saskatchewan in 2004. She continued at The University of Alberta to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2011. Dr. Mehrotra graduated as the President of the Dental Students Association and was the recipient of "James McCutcheon Honor Award" & "The Canadian Dental Association Student Leadership Award". In the practice, Dr. Mehrotra is dedicated towards educating her patients about oral health and providing a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere in which treatment can be provided. Dr. Mehrotra enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but her special interests include: children's dentistry, oral surgery procedures & cosmetic dentistry. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys the company of her friends and family in the midst of the world traveling, rocky mountain skiing & the art of yoga. Dr. Mehrotra has recently taken on the hobby of photography and has ambitions to travel to all the corners of the world to capture her experience through-the-lens!
